Welcome
Did you miss us?
Things got kind of crazy in the first quarter of this year between our last issue of SeniorInspire the Magazine and my own Model Rep Program, so our newsletter was on a bit of a hiatus.
But we're back now and ready to resume our kinda weekly schedule!
We've also started planning for our summer issue of the magazine which you can read more about below.
Hope you are all making preparations for the upcoming senior season! It'll be Spring before you know it!!
Magazine Update
The 100 Photographers I'd like to Follow issue of SeniorInspire has been out for a little over a month now. If you haven't purchased your copy, you can still do that here.
And even if you were not one of the 100 photographers selected as winners of our annual contest, you should really consider picking up a copy anyway. At $49 it'll be the cheapest posing guide you'll ever purchase. There are so many great ideas packed into 120 pages, it's sure to provide inspiration for years to come!
Next up?
For our next issue we're going to be trying something new, our first ever SQUARE issue of SeniorInspire the Magazine! I'm hoping to have info out about the next issue soon, but start thinking about some of your favorite square images now!
Talk to you soon!

Picture Perfect with Frequency Separation
I always hear people talking about how amazing frequency separation is and honestly, those two words scared me for years! It just sounds so complicated!
Over the years I've read and watched tons of explanations of the process, but most left me more confused than when I started.
Then I ran across this tutorial video from Ben Willmore and Adobe!
It's a little on the long side at 46 minutes, but I was mesmerized the entire time. If you were ever curious about frequency separation, or even just need a brush up on the process I hightly recommend setting aside some time to watch.
In the video, Ben methodically teaches you how to use frequency separation in Photoshop to perfect images by removing the unwanted details from a photo while maintaining the ones you want. Check it out - It'll change the way you retouch!
Instagram and Social Media
Instagram adds Likes to Stories
OK, so all the cool kids probably know this one already...
Not sure why this wasn't always a thing, but Instagram recently added the option to like Stories. Just click on the little hollow heart on the bottom right of any Story and wallah, the person on the other end will know you're looking at them.
Thank you Instagram for giving us one more way to get that little dopamine hit we all crave throughout our day!
Instagram is Testing Pinned Posts on User Profiles
THIS IS SOMETHING FROM iNSTAGRAM I CAN GET BEHIND!! 👍
Instagram is currently testing the option to pin images to the top of your grid!
This would enable more creative control of your Instagram profile and allow you to pin your most important posts to the top of your page!
I know you can already do something similar with highlights, but I do wonder how many people actually look at those.
With the ability to pin posts, and maybe even rearrange your grid all together, you'll be able to really fine tune the message you want to send potential clients who are visiting your page.
Check out this story that goes into a lot more detail about the test.
Education
David Beckham's Elements of Posing
Did you get your copy of David Beckham's Elements of Posing?
If not, you are completely missing the boat! This is by far the best video training I have ever seen for senior photographers!
In a series of 38 short videos totalling over 4 hours of training, David walks you through tons of different posing ideas and situations you'll find yourself in every day as a senior photographer.
The best part? All of these videos are available to you on your smartphone so you'll be able to go to shoots with a complete posing tutorial in your pocket!
Need a quick idea? Pull your phone out while your senior is changing into her next outfit and watch a quick video with all kinds of great ideas!
If you don't have your copy yet, go here to get it.
And for a short time you can use the code Inspire50 to save $50 on your purchase.
If you have any kind of education budget for 2022, this is the one thing you really shouldn't miss. Buy it now and you can thank me later!
