Welcome
Welcome to issue number 10! Can you believe we've made it this far?
This week we launched our annual SeniorInspire 100 Photographers to Follow Contest.. Have you entered yet?
If you worked hard in 2020 and have been meaning to put your photography out there, now's your chance!
We'll be taking submissions through January 29th, but please don't wait until the last minute. Every year I get at least seven emails from people after the deadline upset they missed it. You don't want to be one of those seven because I'm a stickler for deadlines!
Anyway, we've got a great issue for you this week. Read on!
Facebook Group

Where is my mind?
What makes you tick? Are you loud or quiet? Living in the here and now, or dreaming about the future? Do you lead with your head or your heart? And how do these things affect your photography business?
I'm excited to announce Lisa McNiel will be presenting an 8 part video series over the next three weeks in the SeniorInspire Facebook group touching on aspects of personality and how they influence your business.
Topics covered will include: birth order, early childhood memories, extroversion, intuition, feeling/thinking, tidy/random, assertive/turbulent. Lisa will also explain how to use this knowledge to get where you want to be and NOT where you don’t want to be.
Please join us in the SeniorInspire Facebook group beginning this Wednesday, January 6th. Can't wait!

Behind the scenes with Holly Omlor
This week's new SeniorInspire group cover image from Holly Omlor generated a lot of oohs and aahs.
For a great behind the scenes look at the creative process that went into the making of this image and more, check out this video on Holly's website.
Your Website

Don't forget color in your web design
Heading into every new year, updating my website is ALWAYS at the top of my todo list... but most years it ends up getting put off until next year... and maybe even the year after that.
This year I've got to get it done and lately I've been pouring over articles on web design and the like.
We all know the importance of having a killer "About Us" page. And of course a great call to action is a must for every website.
But one other thing to consider is color and the role it plays in drawing emotion from potential clients. Luckily QuickSprout has put together this in depth look at 10 Trending 2021 Website Color Schemes.
Good stuff!
Equipment News

Christmas gift to myself
Bought myself a new PC right before Christmas and got to spend the holidays setting it up.
I know for some of you that sounds dreadful, but I enjoy the techy side of this biz and with us being mostly stuck at home anyway it was a great way to keep me out of my wife's hair for a few hours.
In any event it was a hundred times better than sitting around Aunt Sue's house eating last year's fruitcake and brushing cat hair off my sweater.
Like the last PC I bought 5 years ago, I bought this one online from Velocity Micro. I highly recommend them for all your desktop/laptop needs as they'll build semi-custom machines to your specifications and their support people are amazing (and located right here in the US).
Leading up to my purchase I spent a lot of time looking at other people's PC builds, so I thought I'd share mine in case anyone out there is finding themselves in need of a new PC.
Meet the Photographer

Our interview with Tishy Bryant!
Besides having one of the coolest names in photography, Tishy Bryant is an amazing senior photographer everyone should be following. Last week we had the chance to catch up with her on a variety of subjects...
SeniorInspire Do you think having such a cool name gives you an advantage as a photographer?
Tishy Bryant I do think it’s an advantage! It’s not a typical photography name. The best part is when I’m out and introduce myself. They know me through my photography name. It’s nice to put a name to a face and a business.
SI Where does Tishy come from?
TB I get asked about my name all the time. My first name is Beverly and my middle is Antish, but I’ve always been called Tishy. My mom put letters together off her favorite show, Dark Shadows. So I may be named after various vampires.
SI What was your favorite Christmas gift this year?
TB Perfume. I have this ritual of sorts in the morning where I smell various scents. My mood for the day depends on what I wear so I always love a good perfume.
SI Did you have a least favorite gift?
TB Not a gift, but I did not like spending Christmas in quarantine away from my family!
SI We're heading into a brand new year. What's the first resolution you're going to break?
TB Diet. I’m sure it’s something related to sweets. Life’s too short to eat dessert last.
SI Have you ever had to curtsy in your life?
TB If I ever curtsied it was by mistake. Last time was a month ago when I got my stiletto stuck in the sidewalk and almost fell. I tried to make it look as graceful as possible.
SI What’s something everyone should try at least once?
TB Go to the mountains, lake or beach alone, completely disconnect, find a good place to just sit and take it all in. Then eat dessert first. That is my second suggestion.
SI How badly do you wish you could get good pizza in Texas?
TB There is nothing like New York pizza.
SI Ah, smart to sidestep that question but the correct answer was nothing beats Chicago pizza. 😉
Let's try one more... If you could take a time machine back to your first day in the photography business, what would you tell young Tishy?
TB I'd say Tishy, only compare yourself to an earlier version of you. That is how you see true growth.
SI Great advice!
And Finally
I hope you all had a happy and healthy holiday season!
2020 was an amazing year for SeniorInspire with the introduction of our print magazine and this newsletter! I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the kind words I've received about both!
But now's the time to put 2020 behind you and get back to work. 2021 holds so much promise for us all.
Let's make it our year!
