Hang ten!
The hottest thread in our Seniorinspire Facebook Group last week was no doubt our new cover image from Canadian photographer Warne Noyce.
My first thought when I saw this was, composite! But amazingly it is NOT A COMPOSITE!
Check out the comments in the group where Warne was nice enough to share some behind the scenes info as well as this pullback from the shoot! Warne's the guy in the back of the boat wearing the plaid shorts and hanging on for dear life!
Incredible!!

Your Website
Should I work on my website or rewatch Tiger King for the 3rd time?
If you're like me, you'd rather do anything other than update your website!
The last time I did a major update on my site, I promised myself I'd keep it up to date and at the very least, add new photos every month.
Then today the senior featured on my homepage called to book her own daughter's senior photos!
That last part's not really true... but if your website is more than a year old there's a good chance it needs a little sprucing up. A very good chance!
A good place to start any refresh is freewebreport.com. Plug in your website and an email address and you'll get a detailed report on your site's SEO, usability and performance with some tips on how to improve your results.
I did this a few years ago and improved my site's grade from a C to an A by making several of the changes they suggested. Now my site loads faster and more importantly ranks higher with Google.
Along the way I learned some things about SEO and how Google sees your site.

Your mental health
Wintertime blues
For a lot of us this is the time of year when the phones start to slow down.
The weather is colder, the trees are leafless and you haven't heard a senior laugh in weeks. It's hard not to find yourself thinking, 'Will I ever get another client?'
We ALL go through this, to varying degrees!
If you find yourself feeling like you've lost your mojo, check out this article about regaining your passion for business. And then check out these 11 things NOT to do when you're feeling slumpy.
And above all that, remind yourself you felt the exact same way 12 months ago. The seasons WILL change and the seniors WILL come back... but you must stay on top of your game and be prepared!
Meet the Photographer
Catching up with Tiffany Garcia
Tiffany Garcia is a Texas senior photographer who's been on everyone's radar for several years. Her style is fresh, fun and full of life!
Tiffany recently had one of her images featured on the cover of SeniorInspire the magazine and we had a chance to talk to her about that accomplishment and more. Enjoy!
SeniorInspire: First, you look so young! Are you old enough to drive?
Tiffany Garcia: Why thank you!! I honestly get that a whole lot. 😋 I’ll be hitting my mid 30’s next July. 😬 Speaking of driving, I get in the motor to reach the pedals. 🤣
SI: I loved your image on the cover of the last issue of SeniorInspire the magazine! How exciting was it to have your image chosen for the cover?
TG: It was one of the biggest honors to have my image chosen for the cover of SeniorInspire. I was truly in shock and disbelief and my senior was extremely excited! Till this day, I think about it. It’s the most amazing feeling in the world!
SI: Let's get these out of the way... Canon, Nikon or Sony? PC or Mac? Taylor Swift or Kanye?
TG: I am a Sony & Nikon shooter. I use a Mac for all! 🙂 And Taylor Swift, for sure.
SI Which actor do you wish you could have spent quarantine with?
TG: An actor I would choose to spend quarantine with would probably be Morgan Freeman. He is one of the most incredible, transparent actors ever! I’m all about the truth and I love an old story. To me, he probably has many stories to share. Oh, not to mention he seems wise. He’s my all time favorite actor!
SI What are the best and worst parts about being a senior photographer?
TG: The best parts about being a photographer would be the praise and thank yous from my clients. Being able to capture time for them, and sharing a memory that will forever be a moment they will cherish.
The bad parts, let’s see...probably, not being able to shoot these seniors every single day. These Seniors have so much potential, beauty and charisma - you just want to keep them in front of your camera as much as possible. Oh, and when it comes down to editing, and your computer is slow. That can be annoying! 😋
